WBB travels to Jacksonville, Fla., to face Edward Waters

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team will travel to Jacksonville, Fla., to play Edward Waters University on Wednesday afternoon. The contest, which will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. E.T., will be the third straight road contest.
 
Last time these two-teams met was 12 days ago, when the Tigers defeated the Golden Bulls 70-55, in the CIAA-SIAC Challenge.
JCSU team went 1-1 over the weekend in the CIAA Cross Conference Challenge. On Saturday the Golden Bulls fell to the host Virginia State 80-51. Besty Burnett led the team with 20 points. Burnett shot 6 of 16 from the field and shot 6 of 13 from three-point range. Burnett went 3 of 6 from the free throw line. Desiree Smith had a double-double on the night scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
On day two, JCSU picked up a win in overtime as the Golden Bulls defeated Lincoln (Pa.) 71-68. Kyshonna Brown scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Burnett scored 16 on the afternoon.  
Edward Waters fell in an exhibition contest against Division I opponent Stetson University. The Hatters cruised to a 76-38 victory over the Tigers.
