Women’s basketball snaps eight-game losing streak

Box Score CHARLOTTE –  Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball picked up their first CIAA win against Bluefield State on Wednesday night to improve to 4-10 and 1-6.
The Golden Bulls defeated Bluefield State University 69-61 inside Ned E. Shott Gym. BSU drops to 7-9 and 0-5 in CIAA play.

JCSU was led by Betsey Burnett along with three other Golden Bulls. Burnett finished the night with 17 points on 6 of 11 shooting from the field. Burnett also had six rebounds on the night.
Nyasia James tallied 11 points and had three steals. Kamryn Williamson and A'Qoyas Cody each scored 10 points.

The Golden Bulls will return to action on Thursday, Jan. 16 as they host the Dragons of Virginia University of Lynchburg. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
