Box Score Charlotte, N.C. – Livingstone College picked up a key CIAA volleyball victory Monday night, defeating Johnson C. Smith University, 3–1, inside Brayboy Gymnasium.
The Blue Bears improved to 10–11 overall and 5-7 in CIAA play, while the Golden Bulls fell to 6–15 overall and 2–10 in conference action.
Livingstone claimed the match by set scores of 25–19, 21–25, 25–21, and 25–21, displaying steady offensive efficiency throughout the night. The Blue Bears hit .263 as a team, compared to just .038 for Johnson C. Smith.
Livingstone controlled the tempo early, hitting .333 in the opening set. After JCSU responded in the second set with a 25–21 win, the Blue Bears regrouped, taking the next two sets to secure the road victory.

Abigail Freeman's team-high 16 kills, the Golden Bulls were unable to overcome a negative hitting percentage in the third set (-.036) and an even 0.000 mark in the fourth.
